Erin Bryce, Head Tennis Coach at Mary Baldwin will host “open campus play” for all students, faculty, and staff members to come out and enjoy friendly competition and free instruction. Students and staff of all skill levels are welcome to participate. If you are a student interested in possibly joining a sports team on campus, this is a great opportunity to meet new people and to explore your possibilities. A limited number of tennis rackets will be available to borrow, therefor if you have your own, you are encouraged to bring it along. Mark your calendars for the following dates, and we look forward to seeing you on the court!

The current prevailing theory [25] is that of Shōsuke Murai, who demonstrated in 1988 that the early wokou came from multiple ethnic groups rather than one singular nation. [24] Murai wrote that the wokou were "marginal men" living in politically unstable areas without national allegiances, akin to the Zomia thesis. [24] Supporters of this theory point out that one of the early wokou leaders, Ajibaldo, was variously claimed by period sources to be Mongolian, Japanese, Korean, and an "islander"; [26] his name is apparently Korean and Mongolian in origin. Dear Pamela,As a Brit, it’s nice to see someone from ‘over the pond’ who’s got most of the information about Afternoon Tea correct for a change: I now live in Vinci, Italy (yes where Leonardo was born), and now offer afternoon tea to Italians in our home dining would take you to task on one item in your article,(there’s always a critic!) and that is about Cream Tea in which you say: “Cream Tea — A simple tea service consisting of scones, clotted cream, marmalade or lemon curd and tea.” Cream Tea traditionally consists of scones served with clotted cream and strawberry said that if people prefer to have their scones (and it’s pronounced ‘skons’ as far as I’m concerned),with an alternative, I have no problem with that, it’s a free world (supposedly)! For example I sometimes fill my Victoria Sponge with lemon curd instead of the traditional raspberry jam and fresh raspberries both of which balance well with a nice cup of sweet Luck with the book!

I don’t know if it is really early retirement that people are looking forward to – more likely they are looking to be financially free, and therefore be able to continue in employment as a choice not a necessity if they love the job they have or, having the financial freedom, do something altogether different, maybe start a second career, go and get a fine arts degree … it’s just part “B” and if the financial wherewithal is there, then the lifestyle is determined more by values than by the need to earn.
